The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use in adolescents 12 to 15 years old. The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices meets May 12 to discuss a recommendation for this expanded use. Vaccination is expected to begin this week after recommendations are issued.
